Network Six West
A temporary service, Network Six West is currently operating in the West of England region, following sweynWest's termination of contract on Monday and the lack of a suited franchisee.

The service, owned by Network Six, has retained sweynWest's current programming, schedule, on-air presentation and staff, along with continuing to hold. sweynWest's production commitments.

The service will be terminated as soon as a new franchisee has been chosen.

RE: Network Six West
I'm just wondering, when does the new franchisee start broadcasting?

RE: Network Six West
Network Six West's regional news magazine, sweynWest Tonight, has been re-titled West Live as of tonight, in a gradual phase-out of the sweynWest name.

The sweynWest name is still used on-screen idents, but has been removed from trailers and promotions. Verbal announcements are currently simply using "Network Six" or "in the West", whilst local production endcaps use a generic SIX logo with "West" written beneath.

The teletext service has been titled "Six Text", whilst the website has now replaced all mentions of "sweynWest" with "Network Six West", besides the main header image.

A number of cuts have also taken place and the dependancy on Carte Regal is in the process of being reduced. On Friday, the business' PR department, integrated with Carte Regal, was transferred to Glyndwr TV, whilst technical capabilities and playout are temporarily being handled by Western (SW) and Neptune. The company's studios continue to be leased by Carte Regal for the time being, however it is anticipated a changeover to the new provider will require a new lease to be signed.

Some of the latest happenings at NSW:

Network Six West is pleased to announce the launch of its timeshift service, sweynWest +1. It will be broadcast on NSW's Freeview multiplex space from 10.25am-7.25am daily.

NSW has also announced production of a number of new regional programmes, highlighted by "Maritime Fayre", a new docusoap following Bristolian pirate Arnold Davis in the 17th Century, on his quest to hit the jackpot on his comandeering adventures accross the Atlantic.

NSW has also appointed a new Acting Managing Director following the departure of Richard Parton, who headed sweynWest from 2009 until last week. The position now goes to Jade Powell, who was formally sweynWest's Operations Director and formally worked with Western West. A permament post will not be appointed until a new franchisee replaces NSW.

RE: Network Six West
I can confirm that Network Six West will be replaced by Echo at 00.00 this Friday.

Both NSW and Echo are working together to ensure the stability of the new franchise and the transfer of assets and staff. There will be a re-structure, but there will not be any redundancies. NSW wishes to thank all of its staff in this uncertain and hurried time, and wishes Echo all the best for its future endevours.

Is Echo still taking the specially produced 'Coffee Time' from Western weekdays for an hour each day?

We will - I've been busy with exams, but when I'm back to full cap, I'll get a schedule together.

Must admit it was nice to pop back in and see that someone is committing to this with a lot of effort! Nice work, Mark.
