WESTERN
RTL:WESTERN operate the SIX franchise in the West and South West, we also operate SIX GOLD which is a new digital channel for classic entertainment on freeview, at the moment SIX GOLD is unable to broadcast on the Sky platform due to broadcast rights, but we are in discussions to clear the rights.
SIX GOLD will launch on 1st May with a cult American soap - Knots Landing. Knots Landing will be shown in full on the SIX GOLD channel, and two of the stars of Knots Landing will be the voice of SIX GOLD for its first week - Michelle Lee and Ted Shackelford.
After the first week the voices you will hear on SIX GOLD are Glen Allen (formerly of UK Gold and Five) and Erika North (formally of Heart 106.2 and currently Classic Gold Digital) as well as Alison Burnett (who was a presenter on the Chiltern network and currently Star in Cambridge and Ely)
RTL:WESTERN know that in this day and age of terrorism, you the viewer would like to be kept informed of the latest developments and happenings. RTL:WESTERN will direct viewers of SIX GOLD to the SIX NEWS CHANNEL should a breaking news event happen regarding terrorism (or anything that requires the public to be informed) and will also take news flashes from the national news provider on the main WESTERN channel. These slides will be used to inform people just befor going to adverts and going out of adverts (a rolling banner would appear during the programming informing people)
More from RTL:WESTERN in a while!

RE: WESTERN
There is nothing wrong with breaking into programmes but the approach they use on Sky's channels I find more effective and less annoying, where they display a Sky News style banner at the bottom of the screen with brief details and saying to turn over to Sky News.
You could have a banner at the bottom until the ad break and put a full screen caption up then or change the schedule.

RE: WESTERN
why would we want to broadcast western's news nationally? it is for important breaking news from the main network! not western local news!

That is unchecked by default though, which makes me wonder if a setting on your account has gone dodgy. I'll have a look to see if anything is wrong but no promises.
