SixHD
TotalAccess Television is thrilled to announce the acquisition of the SixHD franchise to its library of quality projects. Our company went unopposed in its bid, but intends to follow through on its promises of Quality Picture, Quality TV.

A website will be forthcoming following setup from the Network, as will graphics and schedules. HD programming will be selected from all franchises past and present, as well as the independent producers, ourselves included. A dedicated newscast is not currently part of our plan at this time, though factual and documentary programmes from the news franchise is encouraged.

Carriage of sports coverage will be announced following consultation with the winner of the SSN franchise. We will endeavour to bring a set number of high-profile sporting events in a high definition simulcast with the sport channel.

Again, we are glad to be back actively running a franchise within the Network, and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership.

Get ready for a change.

RE: SixHD
Here's a sneak peek at one of the new idents SixHD will be airing once we implement all the new schedules and ideas. Continuing on with the theme of 'Quality picture, quality TV,' the idents take place in a studio block during the production of great TV.

RE: SixHD
SixHD would like to formally announce the themes we are divvying our schedule up for the new year. Producers and franchises are encouraged to start thinking about programming that may fit our channel. We do ask that you make your pitches in the official programme portfolio thread for Network Six's March schedules--they have the right of first refusal. We will then make our final official schedule once the Network's schedule is released.

Primetime in the Daytime: Currently slated for 8am to 11am Monday to Friday... This block mainly consists of older programmes that have been offered on Network Six, 6-Net, and APFS Network in years past, but that weren't necessarily carried on their schedules.

ReTV: Currently slated for 11am to 2pm daily*... This block is reserved for Network Six scheduled peaktime programmes, which will air on a next-day delay for the convenience of viewers who missed the initial transmission. *Only programmes that were offered in HD can qualify for this slot. If a certain day's schedule does not fill the 3-hour time we have scheduled, the gap will be filled at our discretion.

Theme nights: 6pm to 11pm Saturday to Thursday. Each night is devoted to a certain type of programme format, and will be a mixture of new and repeat programmes. Reality and game shows, sitcoms, crime dramas, family and life dramas, factual and investigative shows will each have a devoted night of programming (order to be determined). Saturday nights will likely be a "potluck" of each theme.

Friday Night Double Feature: We will be scheduling Hollywood hit films as well as made-for-TV movies from our own libraries as well as those offered up by producers and franchises (please pitch those in the March thread as well!). Two movies will air each week, and each will be interrupted only once for a five minute sponsored intermission--advertisers will pay big bucks for exclusive sponsorships! 6pm to 11pm Fridays.

Saturday Night Scares: Camp classic and modern hit sci-fi and horror movies air each Saturday from 11.30pm to 2am.

The Back Room: Midnight to 2am Monday to Friday. Latenights on SixHD are guaranteed to get the nation talking. Sometimes taboo, often shocking but true-life topics are covered in our block of documentaries and factual programming. The content of these programmes may at times be extreme but will be transmitted with as little censorship as possible. The first bold choice for this block of programming will be the Sundance film festival entry Zoo.

The Lab: Sunday nights 11.30pm to 2am. Experimental and overtly quirky comedies, dramas and factual programmes that aren't mainstream enough for the main network will likely find a home here.

Coming soon: our plans for 2am-8am and midafternoon schedules.

Get ready for a change.

RE: SixHD
Midafternoons from 2pm to 6pm will be filled mostly by American programmes, the biggest acquisition being the UK syndication rights to "Reba," a popular comedy starring country star Reba McEntire as a harried soccer mom battling adultery, divorce, and teen pregnancy--all in the first episode!

The 2am-8am block will be a mixture of public service and schools programmes. We hope to have a 'right to reply' style programme in the overnight hours to benefit the whole of Network Six. If necessary, the Network can programme any or all of this six hour nightly time period for this type of programme or schools programmes for teachers and professors to record for later use.

In the meantime, our Ident Music has been selected. A musical signature has been licenced to SixHD from 615 Music. The package is called 'Propulsion,' and uses a distinct 4-7 note theme in various ambiences and situations.

Listen to the three-minute sample here http://southernmedia-nmsa.com/audioplaye...theme,1221 and note the following:

0.00 to 0.22 - Midafternoon programmes
0.22 to 0.40 - Overnights
0.40 to 0.53 - Special Programme
0.53 to 1.12 - ReTV
1.12 to 1.57 - Primetime in the Daytime
1.57 to 2.10 - Sports Presentation
2.10 to 2.40 - In Mourning
2.40 to 3.00 - Nighttime

Get ready for a change.

RE: SixHD
I think the Overnight music is a little to jumpy - I'd probably have a heart attack if I heard something that "beaty" at lack of a better word.

Then again the music 6NC uses is pretty similar.

RE: SixHD
Here is SixHD's new schedule, effective immediately.

Some points about this schedule:

1) "Six for 7 Days" is an in-house preview programme highlighting key programming in the upcoming weeks on the Network as a whole.
2) "Six Listens" is an in-house public response programme, in the same vein as "Points of View." Viewers can blog, web-post, email, or appear in-studio to voice concerns and comments about Six programmes.
3) The times of 2am to 7am are left open for the benefit of the Network as a whole. This time is offered for such things as maintenance or transmission tests, nightscreens, or a schools service for the benefit of teachers and professors. We would not be opposed to a live simulcast of morning news between the 6-8am hours.
4) This schedule is meant to compliment, not compete with, the main Network Six schedule. Our "re-tv" scheme of retransmitting select Six programmes the day after they originally air is meant as a service plus a way to demonstrate the power of HD. Our themed primetime schedule is built in the same way as "A choice of viewing" back in the good ol' days of BBC1 and 2.

If there are questions about the programming choices, please feel free to comment here.

RE: SixHD
TotalAccess has retained the SixHD license for the 2010 franchise year, and we are celebrating on-air with a new series of idents which carry on with the "You're On" brand we introduced late last year.

The following screengrabs come from the minute long promo which takes a strong neon sign theme. Note the use of the phrase "Redefined Television," which is a hint to this year's main goal: bringing classic programmes from the 1970s, 80s and early 90s, all digitally remastered and, in some cases, reformatted into 16:9 widescreen using original master film.

Such is the case with the 1980s romantic comedy/drama "Moonlighting," starring Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd, which we have acquired and reformatted with the assistance of the American Film Institute. SixHD also plans to bring reformatted editions of the first few seasons of both "Law & Order" and "ER" -- both series were always filmed in widescreen but have never been broadcast in this manner. We will air these for the purposes of HD, picking the first few series of each in order to not compete with any franchise airing later series.

More Neon idents will air, primarily in latenight hours, to compliment the Daytime and Primetime variants previously linked to elsewhere on these forums.

RE: SixHD
SixHD is happy to release its first two idents for the Summer 2010 season.

Ident 1 starts off with a wide shot of a seemingly everyday fish tank, but then we zoom in to find scuba divers swimming away through some of the toys and trinkets at the bottom.

Ident 2 is simply the SixHD logo drawn into the sand being washed away by the tide.

Ident 3 is a literal display of the phrase "hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement."

Ident 4 is a generic ident for the summer season, with the logo forming out from the horizon of a pasture full of sunflowers.

Ident 5 is part of a series for the nighttime hours. Set at a theme park, each ident is simply a scene of summertime fun accented at the end by our logo with a special glow around the edge.
