It's still a lot of text to cram on one slide despite whoever's going to be reading it.

First off, here's NETV. NETV informed viewers throughout the day with the following caption ("Caption 1"). All the main points of detail are announced by the continuity announcer, who also plugs Emoa's website and freephone helpline.

At the point of 2.50am, both NETV and GTV are broadcasting simultaneously as ESS "Network Six", therefore the on-air presentation on the night itself is ESS's.

At 2.50am exactly, ESS pauses following the commercial break with this more detailed caption, until NETV opts-out of the system.

NETV then successfully opts-out a few moments later, ready to begin the test. It opts out using the Emoa endboard, which can be seen on the video.

We briefly see a technical screen prior to the DTT opt-out, and a "Back soon" caption is erroneously played out in the NETV region using NETV presentation.

After a few moments, the transmitters take-over re-broadcasting from NETV. Since NETV is the host broadcaster for region 5, the R5 testcard is in 100% quality.

This continues until 03.30 when Region 5 joins Region 4. After a few initial blips, Region 4 continues at a high quality.

At 4.21, R4 test card drops off completely into black. By default, the Transmitter blue card appears, before returning to a NETV fault caption. An eventual return to ESS (normal broadcasting) happens at 4.50. Viewers are reminded the following morning that if their DTT equipment has automatically adjusted settings, to simply re-scan again.

GTV on the other hand opts-out differently. It opts out slightly later at around 3.20am. Freeview viewers see the Emoa Nightscreen cut abruptly to a GTV caption reminding viewers briefly of the test, before an abrupt cut to the Region 6 (Clydern) testcard. The picture quality is almost perfect.

Region 6 is taken over by Region 4 at 4.00. Due to the longer distance travelled mast-to-mast, the picture quality of Region 4 is vastly reduced in comparison to closer regions.

GTV opts back in as the regional broadcaster at around 4.23am, greeting viewers to a brief fault caption before evenutually returning to ESS at around 4.45. This system is automated, and will feature a pre-recorded continuity apology.

tvCautley's day looked like this...

The storyline here is tvCautley (soon-to-be cautleytv) are using the 'free' night to test their new presentation, due to launch next month. As the rebroadcast test fails, parts of cautleytv's new look are revealed live on air.

Once every two hours during daytime and after every programme from 19.00, the new Special Announcement slide is accompanied by the announcer informing viewers of the test:

These information slides are shown just before the start of the test:

At 02.50, an abrupt cut to black is followed by the Region 4 test card. Minor imperfections are briefly seen before high quality is restored:

Then at 04.21, the Winter Hill feed is lost and the Region 4 testcard is replaced by the default transmitter caption:

The static tvC generic ident is then displayed, but is in extremely low quality and incorrect aspect ratio. There is no sound, except test tone:

A 'VanquishPlayout' slide is then seen, followed by a series of incorrect captions including a shot of Three Rivers House (complete with old VM ribbon logo), a new tvC trail style, a new breakbumper, a start-up image, a Christmas sting, a Filmscene endboard and a Weatherview endboard:

The playout team finally get to a fault caption although it turns out to be the new one!:

Programmes resume as normal.

Wow, everyone's put in some awesome effort here. I'd comment on everyone's but I'm too tired. I think I'm about done with mine, though I'm sure that I've done something wrong...

RE: Station Challenge 4
So first off let me explain something, a while back I announced a new look for Rowby leading you all over with the horizon nonsense and a brief look at some other things, but-- instead of a rebrand, it was more a refresh, I've gone a bit different now, and it's been rebranded fully almost as plain and simple 'rowby', even though you won't see rowby being mentioned much, and instead simply the logo taking prominence.

Anyway -- down to business.

Because of the little amount of viewers expected to be watching during these hours, the announcement first appeared at 2100, with brief details, then later again at 2300, 0000, 0100. Second image shown is one of two, second has further details about after the test etc.

At 0215, this replaces the Freeview output.

At 0200, the Region 1 testcard goes on.

At 0340, Region 1 joins Region 3

At apx 0400, the 'Region 4' card is now shown.

At 0421, the signal cuts out and goes to the testcard shown when no feed is going out.

At around 0431, the screen then changes to a black screen with the DOG (in a screwed up aspect ration)

At 0432, it then changes to a malfunctional technical difficulties card, not connected to the necessary system.

Control is resumed properly at around 0517, where until necessary arangements can be made, the 10 minute 'we love to entertain you' promotion loop is run.
