Network Six

The BBC has the BBC Trust (soon), S4C has The Welsh Fourth Channel Authority and i thought Channel 4 had one but I can’t find it so im probably wrong.

Aside from that, I think we should set up some sort of Channel Authority comprising of two or three members who can keep an eye on the Network and give the NetworkSix Administration some accountability. The members would be changed every so often be it two months, four months or between each franchise round.

At the moment whenever there are controversial issues being discussed, everyone has there say and eventually we come to some compromise after a long time and some times, harsh words, but we only have to look back at the 6Net controversy the administration led to in my opinion the collapse of the network.

This is not a condemnation of Orry at all, he has run the network democratically and professionally and because of that, if there is an issue that is controversial and goes against the general consensus, but he believes is so important to the network, he should have the power to veto any recommendations by the Authority.

This is just an idea and is open to be expanded or re-worked, what do you guys think?

Channel 4's is named the Channel 4 Television Corporation group or something like that.

All of the ITV companies I believe still have meetings together once a fortnight (may be further/less apart now - it was in 2003) in the ITV Network Centre to sort out schedules, pitch programmes, advertising and general stuff about the network. So yes, all the terrestrial broadcasters have a corporation. BBC Trust, ITV Network Ltd, Channel 4 Television Corporation, Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd, Welsh Fourth Siannel Authority, but how can something like this work with a fake network based upon a forum board? What do you propose that Network Six can do to imitate this?

How about two special forums, one for region holders and one for producers, Orry can head both discusions.

I'd like the idea, and I do follow the NetSix rules but I dunno (will check with Orry or he can reply here) if I'd be able to take part?

I think that the idea has gone down well so who wants to be part of it, not going to lie but i would like a place on there, but if anyone has any problem with that then just say.

Do any existing franchise owners who want to have a part in this have to give up their franchises to do so?

Not atall, and i think its in the best interests of the network that they are long term members of the group, people who were in APFS if possible

I'm in favour of this idea. Might want to rename it NetworkSIX Centre.

I have used the term NetworkSix Administration whever talking about Network Control. I think we do need to sort out offical names soon aswell
