RE: dMGw NEWS - LATEST!
Hey, guys, in case you're wondering why I have now jumped back into this year (2010)'s franchise round, well, before you start considering me a hypocrite and make me forever lose any support and/or respect from everyone here, I want you to know I have been pondering the following re-statement a long time before finally penning it:
DATED 28 January 2010
And now, the latest happening(s) from dMGw and its associations:
.
.
Ever since the founding of its individual parts or associations (1967 in Canada and Australia, 1968 in UK), daaNet Media Group Worldwide [“dMGw”] has strived to build and maintain a presence in the television industry, [...]
Okay, y'know what? Forget all this formal statement format for now, because what I have to say cannot be ascribed this way:
I have been having a major rethink on my proposed retirement from the Network. I've been hearing the clamouring, both from inside the Network and from the area I currently now only serve, such support and veneration I've been receiving as of late.
I now realize that my statement of retirement from the Network of January 11th may have been premature on my part, as I now realize that I can still contribute with only one franchise, at least for now. That such a proven brand such as TeleSouth that I have been building up and maintaining all this time must not be allowed to fall by the wayside so quickly.
You have said you would welcome me back if I ever decided to come back. Now, if you'll forgive this non-hypocrite from almost making a foolish mistake, I'd like to test the veracity of that statement: with my return bid for the South & South-East.
I made a mistake (January 11th) and I want to rectify it before it's too late. If you really wished me to stay/come back to the Network, then I hope to count upon your continued support in my rebid.
Yes, I wish I had made this decision not to retire before I lost London weekends---and considering the impact EWT was trying to make, with lacklustre success, with a Network with as much programme output from the other franchises and various production companies---but, other than TotalAccess' EWT, my EWT felt to have come rather close to the success (production- and news gathering-wise) once achieved by any weekend franchise, including the real-life ATV and LWT. That is a standard that I wish my London weekend successor will be able to attain or try to achieve.
Anyway, that's it for now. I want to stay/come back and I hope you'll let me.
Meanwhile....
dMGw has decided for 2010 to scale back its UK operations [“dMGw (UK HOLDINGS)”].
This will still happen.
Upon termination of transmission, within two months wherefrom, EWT’s “physical plant” share of Knightsbridge Studios will once again become the home of dMGw (UK HOLDINGS)’s previously defunct company, Knightsbridge Productions, which itself will acquire and merge dMGw’s other companies, Protocol Entertainment and TVSolway Productions. Pennines Television will remain separate under dMGw (UK HOLDINGS) and will co-exist side-by-side with Knightsbridge Productions. EWT’s production resources will be transferred to Knightsbridge Productions.
With the loss of Exelon Weekend Television [“EWT”], my Knightsbridge Television will re-emerge as a NetworkSIX player, but for now it will not be producing or distributing any programme output until at least summer 2010. Further, EWT's programme library will be maintained by Knightsbridge and, by summer 2010, any programmes therefrom will be made available for any franchisee to broadcast on their schedules. These programmes will not be offered to the Network as a whole.
EWT’s Teddington Studios (originally owned by Exelon Television Ltd) will be put up for sale, either for whichever London franchisee is interested, for NetworkSIX’s National News franchisee, or even for co-use by dMGw’s existing real-life franchises, BBC1 Yorkville and ITV Yorkville Television.
That "snag" is now interfering with said sale. But as the successful National News franchisee has submitted a favourable bid for their purchase, we will still consider it as soon as this potential mess is dealt with and hopefully averted. Which shouldn't be too long.
To those who didn’t wish me to leave the Network, you will not be disappointed. The best is set to continue!
